1. These terms
These terms govern your use of the Sadara mobile application. By creating an account or using the app you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
Sadara is operated by Sadara for Software Development, a business licensed by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in the State of Qatar under licence number 337600. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Sadara for Software Development, and "you" means a person using the app.
How we handle personal data is set out separately in our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
2. What Sadara is
Sadara is a record-keeping app. It lets a group of friends create a league for any game they play together, log the results of their own matches, and see standings and ratings calculated from those results.
It is worth being clear about what Sadara is not:
- We do not organise, run, supervise or officiate any match, game or event.
- We do not provide, book, inspect or endorse any venue, court, pitch or equipment.
- We do not verify results. Everything in a league is entered by the players themselves.
- We are not a party to any wager, stake, prize or payment between players, and the app provides no means of making one.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Sadara. If the law where you live sets a higher minimum age for consenting to online services without a parent or guardian, you must meet that age instead. [Confirm the minimum age with counsel — it must match the age rating declared to both app stores and the figure stated in the privacy policy.]
4. Your account
You sign in with an email address. Keep your password to yourself; anything done through your account is treated as done by you. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has gained access to it.
Give us an email address you actually use. Account verification, password resets and league invitations are sent to it, and we have no other way to reach you.
One person, one account. Do not create an account for someone else without their knowledge, and do not use someone else's account.
5. Leagues, organisers and members
Anyone can create a league and invite others to it. The person who creates a league administers it: they decide who joins, who is removed, and how the league is run.
An organiser can add a placeholder for a player who has not joined yet, so that results can be recorded before everyone is signed up. When that person joins, they can take over the placeholder and its record. Organisers should only do this for people they actually play with, and only using a name those people would recognise.
We do not mediate between members of a league. Who may join, who was removed and whether a result was entered correctly are matters for the league to settle among itself.
6. Results, standings and ratings
Results are entered by players. We do not witness matches and we do not check that what is entered is true. Standings and ratings are calculated from whatever has been entered.
Ratings in Sadara are a feature of the app, intended to make a group's own games more interesting. They are not an official ranking, they carry no standing in any sport, and they say nothing about a player's ability beyond the group they were earned in.
A league's history may be corrected by its organiser. Where a correction changes past standings, it changes them for everyone in that league.
7. Conduct
Sadara includes group conversations. What you send in them reaches the other members of your league. You must not use the app to:
- harass, threaten, demean or abuse anyone, or post content that is hateful or discriminatory;
- post sexual content, or any content involving a child in a sexual or suggestive way;
- post content you have no right to post, including other people's photographs or private information;
- impersonate another person, or misrepresent who you are;
- advertise, solicit, or send unsolicited messages in bulk;
- break the law of the State of Qatar or of the place you are using the app from;
- attempt to gain access to accounts, data or systems that are not yours, or to disrupt, probe or reverse-engineer the service.
We may remove content and suspend or close an account that breaches these rules. Where the breach is serious we may do so without notice.
8. Content you post
What you post stays yours. By posting it you give us permission to store it and to show it to the other members of the league you posted it in, which is what makes the app work. That permission goes no further: we do not sell your content, publish it elsewhere, or use it to advertise.
Messages you have sent to a league conversation may remain visible to that league after your account is deleted, since they form part of other people's conversations. Results of matches you took part in also remain, so that league history stays correct, but they are no longer shown under your name.
9. Playing is at your own risk
Sport and physical activity carry a risk of injury. Sadara records games; it has no part in playing them. You are responsible for deciding whether you are fit to take part, for the condition of the venue and equipment you use, and for your own safety and that of the people you play with.
10. Availability
We aim to keep Sadara running and intend to improve it, which means features may change, be added or be withdrawn. We may suspend the service for maintenance, and it may be unavailable for reasons outside our control. We do not promise uninterrupted availability.
The app depends on services we do not operate, including the app stores it is distributed through and the providers that deliver our email, chat and notifications. Interruptions in those services affect Sadara.
11. Ending your use
You may stop using Sadara at any time and delete your account from within the app. What happens to your data on deletion is set out in the privacy policy.
We may close your account if you breach these terms, or if we stop providing the service. If we withdraw the service altogether we will give you reasonable notice and an opportunity to retrieve your data where it is practical to do so.
12. No warranty
Sadara is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties about it — in particular, we do not warrant that it will be free of faults, that data will never be lost, or that it is fit for any purpose you have in mind for it. Nothing in these terms excludes a right you have under the law of the State of Qatar that cannot be excluded.
13. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of Sadara, including loss of data, loss of profit, or any indirect or consequential loss, nor for anything that happens between players in a league, at a venue, or during a game. [Counsel to review this clause and advise on an appropriate cap and on which heads of loss may lawfully be excluded under Qatari law.]
14. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms we will update the date at the top of this page, and where the change is significant we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Sadara after that means you accept the revised terms.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the State of Qatar, and the courts of the State of Qatar have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. [Counsel to confirm the forum and advise whether a dispute-resolution or arbitration clause should be included.]
